I have been checking out the Nintendo Wii, and I'm impressed.
not only is it backwards compatible with the Game Cube, but you get a virtual machine with the whole of nintendo's back catalogue, from the NES to the N64.
So, guess what I'll be putting all the money that I get for christmas towards.
I have a really fast connection with my isp (10 meg), and whilst I get this speed fully upstairs on my main pc & my burner, I barely get a 4 meg connection downstairs on my Laptop.
I have managed to isolate the problem to the Dumb Hub that splits the connection between the Wireless acces point & the Network hard drive as it is 5/10 Mbps not the full 10/100Mbps that the rest of my equipment is.
One of my mates has managed to find a 54g wireless router for under £15 including shipping, so he ordered that for me.
Hopefully he should have that down Da GC for me tonight & that should bring my browsing & file storage back up to speed.
Here's hoping anyway.
Peace Out.

Hectic......
Long time no update,
well, My Birthday went well, and I made out like a bandit with presents, Lego Star Wars II, a remote controlled K9, Weird Al's new album, and a load of other cool stuff.
Then I was hit with a cold which felt more like the flu, the air conditioning in work was not working properly, and my corner of the building was so hot I was almost passing out.
So I took a couple of days off sick & tried to get better.
All too soon I was back in work.
I still haven't managed to win the lottery, but a friend has offered me a job driving a Taxi for him, I am seriously considering this, as I am dreading the end of this project & having to go back to regular tech calls.
I opened my safe for the first time in months last night to check on my pistols, the 2 air pistols were fine, but my black powder pistol had siezed and needs some tlc, so I'll spend a couple of hours tomorrow giving it a damn good clean.
Looking forward to tomorrow night down at the golf club, we are having a big foreworks display.
One of the members is a licenced Pyrotechnican, so we should have some BIG BANGS.
Well I'd better get on with some work I suppose.
Peace Out.

Of Mice & Keyboards
Well,
finally got a spare pc working for Auntie Pam, her BF (Andy) was down on the weekend & brought spare parts & basically rebuilt her original machine, but the keyboard & mouse were knackered.
I have been Ill with this summer flu, but due to work commitments, I had to just work through it.
It's my Birthday next week, I know that I'm getting some really cool presents, but I found something online last night that I really want.

It's only £3800, which for a BB Minigun is not bad.
well, that's me for now.

A Busy Week.
Well,
The Fair has been & gone.
I went twice & had fun on both occasions.
On the Wednesday I went with one of my best mates Mums (Auntie Pam), we were supposed to have another young lady along, but she couldn't make it.
When we got back to Pams, the gardener that her Dad was paying (far too much by the way) was there & looking for money.
The Long & the short of it is that the gardener is no longer working there.
He was supposed to build a wall for a raised bed, but he reckoned that it would take 16 hours, at his rediculous rate. Pam was very upset as she was soo looking forward to finally getting her garden sorted.
Now, you do not upset My Auntie Pam!
I was off from My day job on Friday & had arranged to get some keys cut for Pam & to fit a garden tap for her.
I did those Jobs In the morning & decided at about 11:30 to see about sorting this wall out.
at 4:00 I finished packing up and went home, there now is a dry stone wall, about 20 feet long and 2 to 3 feet high (the garden slopes), I also added another course of bricks to what was allready there to level off the brick part of the wall.
My thighs have been knackered ever since, all those large stones, and lifting with my legs.
Then on Monday Pam's pc goes south, first the fuse in the powercord blows, I replace this & then the psu goes with a big flash & bang.
We went to get a new psu, I fitted it and..........
nothing, still dead.
I popped home & grabbed a couple of spare motherboards & a spare old pc.
I spent hours trying to get a working pc for Pam, the closest I got was an old PII board to go to the POST, but the keyboard port was knackered.
A new Motherboard & cpu have been ordered, I'll let you know what happens when they arrive.
Peace Out

Good Riddance
As the song says "Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road", a divergence of the ways came upon us last night, as a Group of friends wished Junior good luck in University.
In a very emotional evening We said Good Bye & Good luck, but it is not as if he is moving to another country, as Jack did, he is only going 40 odd miles down the M4 to Cardiff.
And I am expecting him back for my Birthday party.
So To Junior, Jack & all my friends who have gone away for a time, make it a good time, but not a long time.
Peace Out.

Fair Week
Well, The fair is here again.
For the first time that I can remember I actually have money in my pocket on Fair Week.
I'll be heading down to Neath Fair this week with a couple of friends to see whats on, whats there & whats what.
My Best Bud's Sister in law is Pregnant (congrats Harl & Tins).
I am currently looking for an old Ford Escort Cabriolet as a project car, depending on the body shape & colour I get, I have a couple of different Ideas what to do with one. (that's right Harl, you may see a real life version of the polycar).
I picked up an old playstation one on the weekend at a carboot sale, it came with an action replay movie unit.
I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like it turns the playstation into a VCD player.
The one thing that I was looking for purposely was a Tow Hitch for my car, as I have the bar, I just need the hitch & the wiring.
Every week I see at least 3 of these for sale, but this week, when I am actually looking for one........
Not One! Bugger!
well, that's me for now.
catch you all Later.
Peace Out

Hello and Welcome
Hello & Welcome to my blog
I have finally gotten round to setting up a small corner of the interwebnet for myself.
But I forget my manners, an introduction is in order.
Hi I'm Robby,
I'm 30 (soon to be 31)
I work in Technical Support for a large Uk Cable Broadband supplier.
My Interests include Films, Books, Tattoos, Scifi, swimming (tho I rarely get a chance to get to the local pool), Driving, photography & walking in the woods.
I have several pets, A dog called Sundance, 2 cats, Dumpy (she was found dumped as a kitten) and Paris (a Bengal that was 3 years old when I got her, so that name is not my fault), A Rabbit that lives wild in my garden, called Vert and several fish, (some in a tank & some in a pond).
I am a fun & outgoing person, but I can be a bit shy when meeting people for the first time.
Well, that's me,
I'll be back later with more of what's happening to me.
